Inflammation refers to your body’s process of fighting against things that harm it, but when this response lingers (becomes chronic), it can leave your body in a constant state of alert.

Heightened pain sensitivity in the body, as well as common everyday aches and pains in joints and muscles.

Foods to combat inflammation:

• olive oil

• leafy greens, such as kale and spinach

• tomatoes

• fatty fish, such as salmon, sardines, and mackerel

• nuts

• fruits, especially cherries, blueberries, and oranges

There are devastating cases of chronic inflammation, caused by genetics or disease that can only be addressed by medical professionals.

However, the majority of adults suffer from some degree of inflammation in their system.

Many of these issues can be remedied through alterations in lifestyle and adding some of the foods mentioned above.

Some small changes (without resorting to medicines which can cause other issues) can reduce your body's inflammation levels and greatly improve your day-to-day function and enjoyment of life.
